coffee machine culture in German

This is the first article of this blog on coffee machine. It's a pity that it's not about those of China, but about German. During the presentation of Midea's coffee machine,Thomas from Russell Hobbs told me that some knowledge about the coffee machine culture as following:

1.About the design. Most German like the designs of conservative, some special and personalized designs may be found strange or weird.
2.They like the color to be matte, not sharp, which seems to be unfriendly to them.I personally don't know why, guess it's about culture differences.
3.E.S.E is not so easy to find in German market.Other coffee pod or capsules are more popular, such as the Nespresso coffee capsule.(E.S.E. which stands for Easy Serving Espresso) is the technology being used to simplify the preparation of a good espresso using just a few simple actions, thanks to the adoption of the “serving” (individual pre-packed doses containing 7 grams of ground coffee that has been pressed and hermetically sealed between two fine layers of filter paper).

Something interesting I heard from my manager is that in Germany people has a fashion culture of buying high-class coffee machine, though they don't drink too much coffee like Italian do.Why are people doing such things? You know high-class coffee machines can represent people's personal taste and status just like BMW and Benz in their country. That can explain why the sales performance of high-class coffee machines in Germany is better than that in Italy. You may already know that Italy is a traditional coffee-drink country as China is a big tea-drinking country.
